Nelson Verge Graham was born on 29 July 1841 at Lake Porter, Halifax Co, Nova Scotia; age 30 in the 1871 census, age 50 in the 1901 census.2,3 He was the son of James McFarlen Graham and Mary Millett Verge.4 Nelson Verge Graham was baptized on 21 February 1842 at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Halifax, Halifax Co, Nova Scotia.2 He married Mary J O'Toole on 22 December 1866.1      Nelson Verge Graham was a machinist in 1871.5 He and Mary J O'Toole lived between 1871 and 1881 at Dartmouth Town, Halifax Co, Nova Scotia.6,5 Nelson Verge Graham appeared on the census of April 1901 at Dartmouth, Halifax Co, Nova Scotia.3
