     He and Hannah Maria Banks resided on 10 April 1891 at Round Hill District, Annapolis Co, NS.4 James McLaughlin left a will on 9 September 1899 at Round Hill, Annapolis Co, NS,, which was recorded 26 September 1899.      Jared Miller McLaughlin was born on 30 September 1876 at Rosette, Annapolis Co, NS.1 He was the son of James McLaughlin and Hannah Maria Banks.1 Jared Miller McLaughlin was baptized on 27 July 1878 at Saint Lukes Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS; by W S Gray, Assistant Minister. It is likely that Jared and brother William were baptized on the same day. The St Lukes transcript shows William's baptism as a belated entry and on 28 July.1 He died before 1899 as he was not mentioned in his father's will.2

     Edward Wilson McMasters was born on 3 April 1856 at Massachusetts, born at Travers des Sioux, according to the Supplement and Rice Gen'l Register, apparently in error.1,2,3 He was the son of William P. McMasters and Lucinda Otis Rice. Edward Wilson McMasters died on 9 January 1921.1
     He never married.1 He appeared on the census of 1880 at Travers, Nicollet Co, MN; with his parents. The Rice Genealogical Register gives his birth place as Minnesota which is incorrect.4 He appeared on the census of 1900 at Traverse Twp, Nicollet Co, MN; living with his widowed mother.5

     David Parker McQuillan was born on 27 September 1792 at Seabrook, NH.2 He married Sophia Rice, daughter of Beriah Rice Jr and Catherine Owens, on 22 July 1818 at Baddeck, Victoria Co, NS; the marriage record includes the place of marriage as "Burdeck" and not at St George Church.3 David Parker McQuillan died on 2 May 1867 at Mira Bay, Cape Breton, NS.4,2 He was buried at Mira Bay Baptist Cemetery, Mira Gut, NS.2
     He began military service between 1812 and 1815; during the War of 1812 as member of the militia of New Hampshire.2 He was a joiner in 1818.5 He resided on 20 June 1818 at Wasabackteh, Baddeck, Cape Breton, Canada, where he declared that he had been born in the United States and was a resident for 10 months.6

Maughan, on 15 August 1907.3 Lulu Anastasia Merritt was baptized on 2 May 1924 at Saint Georges United Church, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS.3 She died in 1954.3

     Deacon James Messenger died on 8 June 1877 at Bridgetown, Annapolis Co, NS.2 The estate was probated on 7 August 1884 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS; with an additional settlement of property 10 June 1885. Included in the settlement were: daughter Gerzilla Cogswell wife of Rev Aaron Cogswell of Lake George, Yarmouth County; Frederick A Rice a grandson of the deceased of Lake George (presumably of Annapolis County ed); Donald S G Messenger, Ralph J Messenger, and Annabel A Messenger children of James H Messenger deceased, their guardian and mother Augusta A Messenger of Centerville; and to Emma C Harris and Frank R Troop grandchildren of the deceased of Granville Centre.3
