John Potter married Mary Balcom, daughter of John Balcom and Ellen Gilmore, in 1814 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.1 John Potter married Maria Marshall, daughter of Isaac Marshall and Rachel Goudey, on 18 January 1854.2,1 John Potter died on 15 March 1878 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.3 The estate was probated on 11 May 1878 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS; with a letter of administration for the estate of John Potter of Clements granted to son Samuel Potter. Widow: Maria Potter. Division of land in 1879 to: John H., James D., Samuel, Robert, Mary A. Gilliatt, Helen Carty and William Potter. In 1913 a grandson Levereatt Potter of Clementsport applied for LA to finalize the estate as "all sons and daughters are dead".3

     He and Clarissa Chute appeared on the census of 1881 at Hessian Line District, Annapolis Co, NS; Joshua Potter, male, married, age 43, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Farmer; Clarassa Potter, female, married, age 44, born Nova Scotia; Minne G Potter, female, born 18, born Nova Scotia; Noble S Potter, male, born 16, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Son; Jenne F Potter, female, born 14, born Nova Scotia; Abbie V Potter, female, born 11, born Nova Scotia; Roschil L Potter, male, born 9, born Nova Scotia; Rosey B Potter, female, born 3, born Nova Scotia; Benjamin Chute, male, widowed, age 76, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Farmer.7 Joshua Cogswell Potter was a farmer between 1881 and 1891.8,9 He and Clarissa Chute resided in April 1891 at Clementsvale District, Annapolis Co, NS.8 Joshua Cogswell Potter resided in April 1901 at Clementsvale District, Annapolis Co, NS, as a widower.3

     Martha Potter was born on 9 April 1783.3 She was the daughter of Joseph Potter and Mary Farnsworth.2 Martha Potter was baptized on 16 October 1788 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.4 She married Thomas Rice, son of John Rice and Sarah Smith, at Nova Scotia; In the probate record for her father's estate, dated 15 April 1799, she was listed as Martha Rice the wife of Thomas Rice.1,5 Martha Potter died on 12 October 1847.6
     She and Thomas Rice resided after 1808 at Bear River, NS.7,8

     Mary Potter was born on 7 February 1766, the LDS International Genealogical Index lists Mary's birth place as Clements, Nova Scotia in error. Clements was not established as early as 1766 and her father, Joseph Potter is thought to have settled in Nova Scotia c 1770. Mary was born and her mother died at Worcester, MA.3 She was baptized on 23 March 1766 at First Church, Worcester, MA.4 She was the daughter of Joseph Potter and Zebudah Hayden. Mary Potter married John Rice on 22 April 1785 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS; (21st per Rice Gen'l Register).1,2

     Rebecca Potter was born on 13 June 1828 at Nova Scotia.3 She was the daughter of Benjamin Potter.2 Rebecca Potter married Aaron Potter, son of Aaron Potter and Susannah B. Purdy, on 18 January 1851 at Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS; or 18 Jan 1852 as a marriage bond was issued 26 Jan 1852.2 Rebecca Potter died on 18 September 1905 at age 77. Although Ms McCormick reports Rebecca's death in 1892, she was enumerated in the 1901 census.1 She was buried after 18 September 1905 at Clementsvale Baptist Cemetery, Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.4

     Reuben D Potter was born on 9 February 1826 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.2,3 He was the son of Aaron Potter and Susannah B. Purdy. Reuben D Potter married Sarah Dyer Gilliatt, daughter of John Gilliatt, on 24 January 1850. Potter and Chute genealogies say that Reuben and Sarah had seven children. Therefore, Charles Potter seems suspect. Note that he was not mentioned in Reuben Potter's will in 1883.4 Reuben D Potter was buried at Clementsvale Baptist Cemetery, Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.5 He died on 29 July 1883 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.6
     He and Sarah Dyer Gilliatt resided in 1861 at Hessian Line, Clements, Annapolis Co, NS, where Reuben Potter was enumerated as a married male age 30 to 40 as was his wife. They had five children listed: one male age 10 to 15 years, two females age 5 to 10 years, one male age 2 to 3 years, and one male less than one year.7 Reuben D Potter and Sarah Dyer Gilliatt appeared on the census of 1881 at Hessian Line District, Annapolis Co, NS; Ruben Potter, male, married, age 55, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Farmer; Sarah D Potter, female, married, age 56, born Nova Scotia; Beniah W Potter, male, age 30, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Farmer; David F Potter, male, age 19, born Nova Scotia, Occ: Farmer.8 Reuben D Potter left a will on 11 July 1883 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS,, which was recorded 13 Aug 1883: LWT of Reuben Potter of Clements, farmer. Wife: Sarah Dyer Potter. Children: David Freeman, Beniah Watson, Celestia S. Wright wife of Edward E. Wright and Sabra A. Potter wife of John Douglas Potter. Pews in both Baptist and Wesleyan Meeting Houses.6

     Robert Jefferson Potter was born on 25 December 1858 at Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS, age 41 in the 1901 census.3,4 He was the son of Anthony Potter and Elizabeth Evans Jefferson.2 Robert Jefferson Potter married Annie Milner Wright, daughter of Thomas A. Wright and Wealthy W Milner, on 12 March 1884 at Virginia, Annapolis Co, NS.5 Robert Jefferson Potter died on 5 September 1943.4 He was buried at Clementsvale Baptist Cemetery, Clementsvale, Annapolis Co, NS.6
     He resided in 1881 at Clementsport District, Annapolis Co, NS, with his parents.7 He was a farmer between 1891 and 1901.8,3 He and Annie Milner Wright resided on 6 April 1891 at Clements District, Annapolis Co, NS.8 Robert Jefferson Potter and Annie Milner Wright resided in April 1901 at Clementsport District, Annapolis Co, NS.3

Robert M Potter married Mary Jane Wetherspoon on 6 July 1866 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.3 Robert M Potter died on 6 February 1902 at Clements, Annapolis Co, NS.4 The estate was probated on 16 April 1902 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS; with a letter of administration to his brother Samuel Potter.
