Tabitha Balcom was born before July 1742 at Sudbury, MA, Your author offers the following as compelling evidence of Tabitha Balcom's ancestry:
Two Balcom planters, Silas and Samuel, appeared on census lists between 1768 and 1770 at Annapolis.
Silas and Samuel Balcom are known to be sons of Joseph Balcom and Deborah Boice of Sudbury, MA.
A Tabitha Balcom was a daughter of Joseph Balcom and Deborah Boice.3 She was the daughter of Joseph Balcom and Deborah Boice. Tabitha Balcom was baptized on 11 July 1742 at First Parish Church, Sudbury, MA.4 She married Ebenezer Rice, son of Ebenezer Rice and Anna Rice, before 1770. Your author has searched in vain for the marriage of Ebenezer Rice and Tabitha Balcom in Sudbury, MA and surrounding communities and at Annapolis, NS. The Rice Genealogical Register and McCormick 1975 list their marriage year as 1778 which your author considers very unlikely.
The 1770 census for Annapolis lists Ebenezer Jnr (III) Rice with three in his household, two American and one Acadian. We can assume that he and Tabitha Balcom had been married for at least one year and had one child.
Note that Ebenezer Jnr (III) was not listed in the 1768 census but was a signer of the 30 October 1765 petition for the Grant of Confirmation of the Township of Annapolis (see Savary, p 105). It is possible that he returned to Massachusetts for a time between 1765 and 1770 and might even have married Tabitha in Massachusetts, so your author doesn't list Nova Scotia as their place of marriage.5,1,2

Frederick Balser was the son of Peter Balser.2 Frederick Balser married Sarah Rice, daughter of Ebenezer Rice and Tabitha Balcom, on 27 November 1822 at Saint Lukes Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS; in the presence of Jonas and Levi Rice, by John Millidge, Missionary. Sarah Rice was of the Parish of Annapolis and Frederick Balser was of the Parish of Wilmot.1
It is likely that Frederick was the son of Peter Baltzor and brother of Dorothy who married Sarah's brother Jonas. If so, this was probably the second marriage for Frederick who first married Alice Oliver.3
